Being a mom of three, running a household and a business it is very hard to stay organized and I rely on other blogs to help guide me when I’m stuck!  Mostly I live off of LISTS!  I wanted to send you to a few of my favorite sites that are a great source for information – List Plan It is  a great site with a ton of resources from those SAHM to the WAHM!  There are a ton of great business resources that help keep me organized!  She also has a great blog!

You can go here and sign up for a free trial!

My FAVORITE site for my home and staying on top of cleaning is the FLYLADY!  There motto is 15 Minutes and that’s all you need!  I enjoy the daily emails with a list of quick reminders of what to do for that day.  It helps remind me that a little time means a lot for blessing my family and  that it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Here is a sample of a daily reminder:

Dear Friends:

Your mission for today is to grab a trash bag, set the timer and start tossing anything that is trash. Just toss toss toss. Sometimes we have hidden trash in our bedrooms, things that are disguising themselves as necessary items but really they are trash. Toss those magazines, the junk mail that has been tossed in a pile, the old perfumes that are never worn but still have a place on your dresser, the old clothes that are on the chair that need to be donated or tossed but are still there, empty tissue boxes etc. Toss toss toss!

Look around your bedroom and ask yourself if there is anything laying around that you would consider trash if it was in a hotel room. Your bedroom should be your very favorite retreat!

All that said I wanted to do some tiding up this week to get ready for Easter so I had a few ideas of my own – clean out my fireplace! If I had my way mine would look like this!

After I clean my fireplace I would then move outside and sweep my front porch off and put some flowers in the front!  – Like this! Thanks for letting me share!!!!

With Spring here I can’t think of anything more I’d like to do other than Let the Sun shine in!!!!!  Winter is so blah and drab and when spring comes the first think I do is open the blinds, curtains and windows and let the sun brighten up the house!  Another way is to add some great sheer fabrics to any room in your house.  Sheer is fresh, clean and bright, a great reminder of spring.  Here are some ideas I loved.

Accessorize! March 25, 2010

Yeah – Spring is here!  at least in Missouri – 70 degrees and sunny!  I am so excited to bring this outside sunshine into the house and the best way to do it is by swapping out your accessories with ones that are bright!  I went to my favorite place Etsy for some great inspiration!  When ever possible to try and support any and all handmade products!

I love the beach and would love a cottage house all over but I’ve only managed to make of of my rooms into a seaside escape and this mirror would be perfect!

With Easter right around the corner I couldn’t help but notice this adorable bunny hook!

I also LOVE this vintage white tile!  There is something about white in the spring that is so fresh and clean!

Last but not least I am going to try these vinyl wall decals!

All week I have been talking about different ways that you can spruce up your home for spring.  I can’t think of a better way than extending your living space outdoors!  With the warmer weather the kids want to get out and play and how nice would it be to sit out and watch them on a comfortable porch (deck) furniture !  Introduce a few garden chairs, accessories, and floral fabrics into a family room, for example. You’ll get the feel of the outdoors every time you’re in the room.

The Inspired Room is doing a section on outdoor living spaces!  I just love this site!  There are a ton of other great ideas there to get your creative juices flowing!

We have been talking about the Top 10 Ideas on updating your house for Spring, and today is number 3 – Update your Fireplace!

With Winter it is common to place your furniture and seating to focus on the fireplace to create a warm environment!  With spring right around the corner a great way to brighten the space is to update your decor on your mantel.  I love this mantel – it is so bright and airy!  It is from The Cottage Letter

Besides adding great decor to your mantel why not add extra seating and make your fireplace the focal point year round!  The Jack-Mat is a patented upholstered hearth seat that sets on your fireplace hearth and provides child safety to your little ones from the sharp edges while at the same time allowing extra seating!

It is so easy to get caught up in Spring Cleaning and once the floors have been scrubbed take a look at at the shine and think all done!  But wait we can spruce up for spring just a little more!  Step 2 for More Spring Color is a Swap Your Rugs!

Wonderfully cozy area rugs look just right in winter. But when the temperature rises it may be time to roll them up and replace them for summer with sisal or cotton rugs in light, cool colors. (Summer is also be a good time to have heavy rugs cleaned or repaired.)

Great cotton rugs and make such a huge difference.  There is a great selection of rugs here.

After months of cold snowy weather – a sign of spring!

The Sign Of Spring

I was so excited!  Is it true – no tricks please I am so ready!  So it got me thinking, a change in colors from blah winter to bright spring decorating ideas!  I will be posting the Top Ten Ways to Decorate your house for Spring!

Lighten Up!

Do you have velvet drapes or a heavy corduroy sofa? Spring is the time to change them out for lighter looking alternatives. Remove the drapes and replace them with airy sheers. Slipcover the sofa or chairs with paler tones or florals.  Quickest and least expensive – new pillows or pillow covers!
